Sometimes our children do things that land them in juvenile court facing delinquency charges. Often these charges stem from something that happened at school and the same conduct results in both delinquency charges and school expulsion proceedings. If your child has a disability, your child may have additional protections available to him or her under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA). I know the potential impact of such charges on a child’s life path and provide aggressive advocacy for your child.
I represent children who have been accused of committing a crime, both before charges have been filed in the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters and once charges have been filed. Because I provide holistic legal representation, I can also represent your child in expulsion proceedings and in manifestation determination reviews and related 504 and special education meetings or hearings.
I’ll work with you and your child to get out of delinquency court and back into school.
Representation may include:
- Representation in school disciplinary meetings including Manifestation Determination Review (MDR);
- Representation of your child in school expulsion proceedings; and
- Representation in the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters.
