Not every child with a disability has or needs an individualized education plan. All children with disabilities are protected from discrimination based on their disability. I represent children with disabilities, through their parents, in matters involving disability-based discrimination in school settings, such as:
- Denial of equal access to educational services;
- Refusal to provide reasonable accommodations; and
- Denial of access with a service animal.
I recognize the importance of ensuring that children with disabilities have access to the ordinary and extraordinary activities available to their non-disabled peers and will work closely with you to identify and advocate for the removal of barriers.
Representation may include:
- Representation in 504 meetings;
- Filing discrimination complaints with federal administrative agencies; and
- Litigation in federal court under federal civil rights statutes including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
